Our Story

The Story of Us

We had been near each other almost our entire lives without ever actually connecting. Jacob worked tech on The Sound of Music when Skylar was in the cast. We both worked tech on Mary Poppins. His aunt, Mandy Heinold, was Skylar’s English teacher for two years. Both of our moms worked for VISD. We went to the same elementary school, Shields. At one point, we even lived right down the street from each other in Austin, Texas.

The universe kept putting us in the same room. We just refused to look up.

In 2022, Skylar began working closely with Mandy Heinold at East High School. Mandy decided it was time to play matchmaker. She started telling Skylar about her handsome nephew Jacob Correll. She recruited Melissa, her sister and Jacob's mom, who both started pressuring him about her beautiful friend Skylar Jones.

We are both introverts. Stubborn introverts. Admitting Mandy might be right? Following her advice? Absolutely not. But she did not stop trying! She invited us to the same events, the Renaissance Festival, rigging and programming lights for shows, theatre functions. We would stand in the same space and somehow avoid eye contact like professionals.

Then in January 2025, Skylar caved and invited Jacob and a few other friends to a game night. That was the night everything shifted. We discovered we had entirely too much in common to ignore. A shared love of film, Skylar with her degree in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Texas at Austin and Jacob with his Bachelor of Arts and Humanities from UT Dallas focused on Film Studies. We bonded over art, storytelling, ghosts, aliens, video games, and journaling.

We started off like two nerdy introverts would; playing Fortnite and Minecraft together online, which we now joke was our first date.

Our first official date was in February 2025 at The Box Coffee Shop followed by Joe’s Pizza and Pasta. Our second date was ghost hunting around Victoria. Because of course it was. By then, we both quietly knew we had found something rare.

Since that January game night, we have not stopped hanging out with each other. People always say you should marry your best friend. We can say with complete certainty that is exactly what we are doing.

Our story is only just beginning, but somehow it feels like it started a long time ago. We cannot wait to celebrate with you in June!!!

Kara Kay Hill (Samudio)
Kara Kay Hill (Samudio) - Maid of Honor
Kara has been by Skylar's side since Kindergarten. So of course she'll be standing by Skylar on her wedding day. I just hope they don't make each other laugh at the wrong moments.
Connor William Correll
Connor William Correll - Best Man
Since childhood, Jacob and Connor have been inseparable. Jacob can't wait to share the day with the dumb to his dumber.
Amanda Jeanne Heinold
Amanda Jeanne Heinold - Officiant
Mandy brought Jacob and Skylar together. Who better to do it officially?

Q + A

HOW AND WHEN SHOULD I RSVP?

To RSVP, please click the RSVP tab here on our website and type in your name. All invited guests in your party will appear. Mark as "attending" or "declining." We kindly ask that you RSVP by May 1, 2026. (Although sooner is always better☺️)

What if I RSVP'D AND CAN'T MAKE IT?

You will be missed! Please let the bride or groom know as soon as possible.

Can I bring a plus one?

In an effort to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, only the guests formally invited on your wedding invitation will be accommodated. Your formal invitation will be made out to "Your Name and Guest" if you have received a plus one. They will also appear under your name when you RSVP. If you received a plus one and choose not to bring a guest, please decline on their behalf.

WHAT IS THE ATTIRE?

Cocktail! According to Vogue: In the simplest of terms, it's a semi-formal style of dress typically worn on early evening and late afternoon occasions. "Cocktail attire was first popularized in the 1920s as women in the U.S. moved into the public social sphere and sought to find more individuality and shed the more confining gender stereotypes of the Edwardian era," Michelle Gabriel, graduate program director of Glasgow Caledonian New York College (GCNYC), tells Vogue. While you can undoubtedly wear trousers, consider leaving the denim in your closet and pairing your pants with a dressier silk top or one that has a more sophisticated silhouette than a basic t-shirt. When it comes to dresses, the length can depend on the style. A long or midi dress is appropriate with a sleeker sihoulletes (let’s stay away from the ball gowns). And a shorter dress can also work but keep the occasion in mind with the length. Also, please don't wear white! That's reserved for the bride.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive no earlier than 5:00 in the afternoon. Please arrive no later than 5:20 to ensure you will have plenty of time. Guests that arrive after the ceremony has begun will be asked to wait outside until the ceremony is over.

PICTURES DURING THE CEREMONY?

We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins we ask that all cell phones and cameras be put away and silenced. The greatest gift you can give us is being fully present. Our photographer will capture this moment and we are happy to share those photos with you when we receive them!

WILL THERE BE A BAR?

Our wedding will not have a bar. We want everyone to remember every moment!😜

WHERE DO I PARK?

Please park on the street outside the Officer's Club and surrounding gardens. From the Venue: DO NOT BLOCK THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER ENTRANCE OR PARK IN THEIR PARKING LOT. VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.

WILL THERE BY ASSIGNED SEATS AT THE RECEPTION?

You will be assigned a table for the reception, but not not assigned seats.

WILL THERE BE A DANCE FLOOR?

YESSS!

I WANT TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE HONEYMOON FUND, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THE INTERNET!

That's okay, I'm proud of you for getting this far! We will have a secure box on the welcome table for cards.

Registry

Jacob and Skylar want nothing more than to travel the world together. Instead of traditional gifts, we are choosing to invest in experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. Your contribution will help fund our honeymoon at a sunny, all inclusive destination filled with rest, relaxation, and plenty of time to simply be together.
